Splicer/Vulcanizer

SMACO Model No. 50 Rubber Splicing Unit
The No. 50 is a rubber splicing unit that is bench mounted and was designed to make "O" rings with a finished ID of 2" x 4". It is available in 110 volt service only. Mold size is 1" high x 1 1/4" wide x 3" long. The 2 cartridge heaters are controlled by 1 cartridge thermo-switch.
   SMACO Portable Self-Contained Splicer
The portable self-contained unit was designed for use in the field when repairs have to be made on shafts or tight places. Minimum downtime is required. The unit is self contained with 1 heater and 1 thermo-switch. Size of the unit can vary depending upon the profile or number of cavities desired in the unit. Standard size is approximately 4" long by 1 3/4" wide x 1 1/2" high. The rubber is loaded into a cold unit. The unit is plugged ito a 110 volt outlet, cured for the appropriate time for the size, then unloaded. The unit is clamped using screw type knobs on the top of the unit.
SMACO Model No. 200 and 400

These machines are simply constructed and require very little maintenance. They are hand and foot operated and can be used for assembly line productions of gaskets. Many plants mount them in banks of 4, 6, or 8 for assembly line production of "O" rings. These machines are electrically heated with cartridge heaters in the upper and lower platens, controlled by one cartridge thermo-switch. When ordering specify voltage, whether 110 volt or 220 volt. The No. 200 have a mold size of 1 1/2" x 2" wide x 4" long. The No. 400 is 2" high x 3" wide x 6" long.
SMACO Model No. 500 - Air Operated Rubber Gasket Splicer

The model No. 500 is designed for high volume production or large profile extrusions for compression molding/splicing. The frame is fabricated from steel and can be altered in size larger or smaller to meet customer specifications. The standard press has a 5 inch bore 5 inch stroke air cylinder. The cylinder size changes with size. Mold size for the No. 500 is 2 1/2 inches high x 7 inches long. Maximum height is 3 inches unless a special order machine. The standard machine has a spring wound timer that activates the cylinder. A digital timer can also be ordered. The platens are heated with cartridge heaters and each platen has a cartridge thermo-switch. Digital temperature controls are an available option. Customer is responsible for guarding or ordering safety controls for your local, state and federal laws.
SMACO Model No. 600 Injection/Transfer Press

The No. 600-type machine (hydraulic version shown below) will mold and splice to a previously extruded product in the simplest method known. Uncured rubber is put into the well pot, the ram is activated by either a hand valve, or digital timer, and the rubber is pushed through the sprue holes in the top of the mold to join with previously extruded product in the mold. At the end of the cycle the ram comes up, the slug extracted, the part removed and you have a completed corner or profile. This machine is used in making corners for window seal, door, or other gaskets, where special angles are used. The standard machine comes with cartridge heaters controlled by a cartridge thermostat. Digital temperature controllers are also available.
The standard size platens are 6" x 6". Special fabricated frames are available that enables the user to mold larger extrusions than the standard model will accept. Sizes available are 8" x 8", 10' X 10" or 12" x 12". These are designed with 2 cylinders. One operates the ram; the other operates the platens, enabling the platens to open vertically instead of like a jaw. The cylinders can be either hydraulic or air. Palm buttons activate the special No. 600 machines. The customer is responsible for guarding or ordering safety controls for your local, state and federal laws, and to guard according to your needs
